Ignoring the fact that it has a terrible name, and ignoring the fact that I still am not in love- I found mine and actually have been using it like a chap stick. It is semi moisturizing and the color is natural, although not long lasting.
I change my review and give it 3/5 lippies. It still doesn't last and it is not as moisturizing as lip balm. Give me lip balm and give me lipstick!Rebeccahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17068633424740935164noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6676642085738484932.post-55032436946461860312012-02-22T06:32:00.000-08:002012-02-22T06:47:53.225-08:00God Has Blessed Me<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgeyfM4hk5ciFlg1_AEZCEFI7j1Z89hw_QSEJbw2tJCVyEdmo9ySLRcRTvOMUIPj9dJOMJ_nXnp9bFbAs9j3OtgbIXyJO8ry1GJtwNvHjdfaWyWgXq8j5qvbdxlQ3cuZ4-hsX13qsNrBs/s320/Picture+034.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5711971544870884642" />
Let me ask you if this ever happens to you:

Life gets a little busy. Maybe the kids get sick, the hubby gets crabby, you can't find your favorite jeans, and your best friend calls you and vents about her bad day. At the end of the week, you feel like you got hit by a bus. You're too afraid to go to date night because your body is tired.

Then it happens. Someone experiences something much worse. In my case, a dear friend lost an adult child. It's like a GIANT wake up call! The lord has reminded me how lucky I really am.

Who cares if my toddler daughters are fighting non stop? They are alive and well and I should be thanking my lucky stars.

Who cares if my hubby gets tired and crabby after a long day's work? The lord has blessed him with good work, a solid career, and a roof over our heads.

Who cares if a friendship becomes more needy than helpful? Friendship has it's ups and downs. I am blessed to have people that value my opinion.

Thank you lord, for opening my eyes. I am forever grateful for my christian husband and our family. I am forever thankful for our faith in Jesus.

This may not be about makeup... it's about much more.

Live your life to the fullest and be thankful!Rebeccahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17068633424740935164noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6676642085738484932.post-47697325560408423102012-02-05T14:12:00.000-08:002012-02-05T14:22:22.203-08:00Super Bowl 2012: Ranked #2 in eating after ThanksgivingWe are having a party at our house and I can't wait to eat the food! We were excited to go to Minneapolis's top rated spa. As far as the hotel went, it was GORGEOUS and contemporary. We stayed in a suite that was expensive and a little uninviting for my taste. But we were happy. Then we went to the spa and I had the worst massage of my life. The masseuse was awkward and kept the lights on the entire time. She rushed with the rubbing part and slapped lotion on my back. It was such a disappointment, I had to report to management. Ultimately, they credited us for the massage and ended up offering us a discount to come back. But I have not taken them up on the offer, simply because there are so many lovely spas who get it right.

Anyone else have a better experience? I'd love to hear about it. Comments are great!

Here is a picture of my manicured hand after the trip... my only lovely memory!Rebeccahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17068633424740935164noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6676642085738484932.post-65051267242872629202012-02-03T13:11:00.000-08:002012-02-03T13:13:16.036-08:00Clinique's Chubby Sticks<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 63px; height: 60px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi7M3fuBfvGu_TXtYzV98Wa8Q2nWGh6_B6hmaiWfpAY9YGYNB2Sn1hphJQtrPhauSYeC4QwfdZU1R_5-KqnXtgqxGJePAacHIGeBOi5aZu0of83xc2KVZozT84ZKJcjLassw5LHF6jL2OA/s320/h60_1855978.JPG.png" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5705020483905159042" />
I just don't get it. My hubby (bless his heart) surprised me for my 29th birthday and sent us lucky girls to NYC! Not only did he put us in an AMAZING suite on the 38th floor in the Mandarin Oriental, he sent us chocolate cake, champagne, and made hair cut appointments for us with Nick.

My hubby must be tired of watching TLC's What Not To Wear.

Anyway, Nick was so friendly! He is MUCH more handsome in person than he is on TV. He gave us great cuts, and took some serious time on our hair. He gave Bekah bangs and he gave me a cute bob. Each hair cut costed around $150. Pretty reasonable for him, IMO.

My husband tried to get us appointments with Carmindy, but she was out of town. Double Wear is always good, but definitely more coverage.

Rating: 2/5Rebeccahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17068633424740935164noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6676642085738484932.post-42114349918019442192012-02-03T11:50:00.000-08:002012-02-03T12:32:03.214-08:00Clinique Brow Shaper<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsJCEpDvsYzcUdcovglyqtHyjQD2Dhsl3M-Wss-yq1vyd-P9rgh2mAbiRjudkgpME1uAQ9H0YULWvhyJY2hdsKL6hSawjImoC-a9F5X3j2fUDsyZ6IhmMMdZVvvGUKNTkohCRzra28zZA/s320/brow+shaper.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5705001009558945378" />
Love Love Love! Robin McGraw is insightful and graceful, and let's face it she looks AMAZING for her age. She says she owes that to excercise and healthy eating habits, but she also recommends a few beauty products. One of them is Cle de Peau cosmetics. Yes, they are very very pricey. I am sure L'Oreal makes just as good quality products. BUT I love this foundation. It makes my skin dewy, fresh and smooth. It has reflecting qualities that really help add a glow to your skin. It's thickness is in between a tinted moisturizer and a medium coverage foundation. It will cover imperfections. It will come with an SPF 24. It will cost you around $120. YES I typed it correctly!! If your wallet can't meet that need, I recommend L'Oreal Visible Lift Foundation for only $18, a very nice foundation that I will be posting about soon!
Rebeccahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17068633424740935164noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6676642085738484932.post-90656198774443390892011-04-24T19:43:00.001-07:002011-04-24T19:56:15.702-07:00What to do with all the Easter Candy?
My Tips Following Easter

Tonight, now that the kids are in bed and have enjoyed eating their Easter goodies, place all the candy in ziploc baggies and name them per child. Now my 3 year old daughter has a fever as well, so far no vomiting thank goodness!

We all are just a little under the weather here! The house is quiet which is a nice change. I know I should be cooking or cleaning, but it has been near impossible to do. I did do the dishes this morning, only to find new dishes in the sink by noon. :(

Sometimes I feel I will never catch up! My office has looked like a bomb went off in it since February. It is the last room that gets cleaned in the house. Clearly, I need a new plan. My closet is in serious need for organization, again I seriously need a new plan. I purchased new books on fashion and organization and all it was was a procrastination technique. I thought I was being smart but all I was doing was buying time.

I guess I need to start small and make a few goals to stick to. My goals are to: Finish my closet and work for a few hours on the office. I will upload before and after photos!

Cheers,

Rebecca

Rebeccahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17068633424740935164noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6676642085738484932.post-2705735310516206782011-04-10T20:00:00.000-07:002011-04-10T20:37:45.706-07:00Masters to Men as Housewives to Women?
Don't pretend like you haven't watched them. You know who I'm talking about! Those women who call themselves "Real Housewives" even though they really resemble aliens. And they act like them too. The more ridiculous they get, the more we can't possibly shift our eyes away.

Meanwhile, our men are watching golf five days straight as they contemplate if Tiger will reinvent himself or remain under the loser category. Sure, we may get frustrated with our husbands for their pure obsession with ESPN, including and not limited to endless NFL games. And let's not forget we just got over March Madness. Yet, I am so proud of my husband because at least you can look at these athletes with respect. Maybe not for Tiger, but even he is wearing a nice polo shirt and smiles with respect, which we cannot say for virtually any of the "Real Housewives".

Bravo makes it so easy for us to get hooked on the sleezy show. All you have to do is tune in on a Sunday and you can get caught up on all drama in about a couple of hours. YIKES! Why do I waste my time watching this trash? I'm supposed to be a mother and a role model, but sometimes it's fun to watch a little junk just to feel like a normal woman. It's the same reason why I go for the People magazine while getting a pedicure. Sure, I'm bored, but more importantly I'm looking for an escape. Now, I don't think that this is too terrible, as long as we as women are real with ourselves and know that THIS ISN'T REAL LIFE! These women actually are miserable and alone. They are hell bent on showing their assets to everyone when in fact all they want is love and acceptance. Don't we all?

My girls are toddlers now, but soon they will be well aware of shows like Housewives. I'm not sure how I'm going to handle it, but I know it's my job to explain to them that these women are not something I'm modeling after. I hope by my representation they will be able to see that. Maybe I'm an optimist, but my prediction is that America will get real sick of reality TV. It's a joke and while amusing, at the end of the day it is garbage. I do believe we are what we think, and as women we need to shift our focus to something healthy and positive. What can replace the activity, you ask? How about getting on the ground and playing with my beautiful children. Who knows, maybe I'll learn a thing or two from real women I call my daughters.
Rebeccahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17068633424740935164noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6676642085738484932.post-67529713594729331532011-04-09T20:49:00.000-07:002011-04-18T11:01:22.940-07:00MAC: Strobe Cream
So I probably read over 15 makeup reviews a day. Why, do you ask? Because I'm obsessed with makeup. It is amazing to me that I can apply a few products to my face and conceal the truth of my life: I'm a mess! It's what children do to you! (And a husband, bless his heart.) The truth is we all get tired and we need a quick fix. Well, not because we care that much about what other's think but because we feel better when we look better. I don't care who you are, if you know you are wearing hot panties underneath those mommy sweats... well you can turn heads just from knowing you are one hot thing.

I've got a beauty product that is so relatively inexpensive and it really works miracles. I don't hear a lot of people talk about this product, but I've been using it for years and through my pregnancies and especially after childbirth. I especially like to use it when I'm crabby, well just incase the hubby may need extra motivation to enter the room. It is Strobe Cream by MAC. I love this stuff, one tube lasts me over two years and it costs around $30. I love love love the glow it gives and it is hands down my favorite moisturizer. You can smear it all over if you are really dry or just dab small amounts on your cheeks. Either way you will be dewy and amazing and like you are 18 again. I promise. And if it doesn't work for you, consider just having sex every day before putting on your makeup. Yeah right.
Rebeccahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17068633424740935164noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6676642085738484932.post-59756933433352122492011-02-16T18:56:00.000-08:002011-02-16T19:03:52.057-08:00Real Beauty is from With InReal beauty is not something found on the outside. Real beauty is accepting that no one is perfect and nothing is perfect. Real beauty is accepting yourself including all scars, blemishes and wrinkles. Real beauty is being the best person you can be and knowing that what you have and what you have done is enough.

As much as I love fashion, beauty and makeup, I'm tired of the media portraying stick like models as everyday women. We come in all sizes and colors and we are all beautiful. In our lives, we will be loved and admired for how we look but may never realize it. We are too worried about losing weight or keeping up with the Jones'. I say, be who you are and never apologize. Love life and be an example for our youth. Carry the torch and show love and devotion to every level. Be proud if lipstick makes you feel good and be thankful if you realize you don't need the lipstick today because you already are beaming without it. Be happy because that is true beauty, real beauty.
Rebeccahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17068633424740935164noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6676642085738484932.post-44543056948516302562008-12-01T19:06:00.000-08:002008-12-01T19:24:36.393-08:00When All Else Fails, Wear Makeup! If you are a busy mom like me, you know how easy it is to put yourself last on the list. Some days, I admit, I don't even get out of my pajamas! As great as that feels to do once in a while, it's really important that you give yourself the time to enhance the natural beauty you already possess!

Here is my makeup routine every morning. It takes me about fifteen minutes:

1. First I wash my face and moisturize
2. Then I put on sunscreen if my moisturizer doesn't have an SPF
3. Next, I apply primer (I use Photo Finish by Smashbox)
4. Now you can apply concealer on your eyelids, under your bags, and on blemishes
5. While that all sets, I pencil in my eyebrows and set with powder
6. Then I apply my foundation. (Some days I use my fingers, while others a foundation brush)
Remember: Less is always more!
7. Then I set my foundation with a powder (I love Baremineral's Mineral Veil)
8. Next, I apply eyeshadow on my lids
9. Then I take a tiny brush and apply black eyeshadow (like eyeliner) to the top of my lashes for definition (Yes, I am a blonde and this works for me!)
10. Then I add a lighter brown to my bottom lashes (If you have black lashes, you can use the black on the bottom, etc.)
11. Then I curl my eyelashes and apply mascara
12. Next, I apply bronzer and blush
13. Finally, I line my lips with lip liner and fill in with lip gloss and/or lip stick.

If all of this seems like a lot of work, or you don't have the time... here is my "Quick Fix":

1. Moisturizer
2. Foundation
3. Blush
4. Mascara
5. Lip Gloss

And WAH LAH... You will be a HOT mama!

Good Luck!Rebeccahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17068633424740935164noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6676642085738484932.post-11459467948198221782008-11-30T20:35:00.000-08:002008-11-30T20:45:35.926-08:00Get a Morning Routine! When you get busy with the hustle and bustle of motherhood, remind yourself to always do at least one thing a day specifically for YOU.

You can start off my giving yourself the time you deserve in the morning. Go ahead and PAMPER! If this means setting the alarm before the baby wakes up, DO IT. Here is a guideline to follow to help you start off the day right.

1. Indulge in a hot shower
2. Rub your favorite lotion all over your body
3. Put on your outfit you laid out the night before
4. Fix your hair and makeup
5. Make yourself a hot cup of coffee or whatever you prefer
6. Give thanks to God and start your day's activities

You can even make this list better by adding a morning workout, such as to a yoga tape. Also, don't forget that fixing breakfast is good not only for your family, but for you!Rebeccahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17068633424740935164noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6676642085738484932.post-18359794053580957102008-11-30T20:13:00.000-08:002008-11-30T20:24:49.086-08:00Welcome to my Blog!
This blog has been created for the everyday Mom looking for tips on motherhood, beauty, marriage and life in general!

Thank you for visiting, and I hope to keep you all entertained for many months to come!

Sincerely,

RebeccaRebeccahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17068633424740935164noreply@blogger.com0
